Youth Pastor: Joe Mullarkey

Pastor Joe was grew up in Illinois attending VBS every year as a child. While he heard the Gospel, nothing really stuck with him until he was invited to youth group by a friend. Once again hearing the Gospel, Joe decided he didn't want to be "that guy who goes forward" so he pretended to know Jesus. It wasn't until attending a youth rally that he put his pride aside and accepted Jesus as his Savior. After high school Joe felt a calling into youth ministry. He attended Faith Baptist Bible College in Ankeny, Iowa where he began his training for ministry. It was at Faith that Joe met his future wife Lori. After many years of being friends they were married in 2006. Joe and Lori served in Winterset, Iowa and Nebraska City, Nebraska before coming to Monroe in 2012. They have 4 children: Lily, Elijah, Chloe, and Ezekiel.

Joe's passion is to train up the next leaders of the church through student ministry. He works with adults and students to make disciples who make disciples to further God's kingdom.

Worship Director: Jason Frew

Jason was born in the Dallas area (where he found a love for Rangers baseball and Cowboys football) and grew up in Grand Island, NE (where he found the Huskers).  He grew up heavily involved in the church as his dad served as the missions pastor.  He knew and believed the gospel, but he didn't fully understand until he was 12 years old.  It was the car accident that took the life of his dad and older brother while they were on a missions trip in Mexico that brought him to know the grace, power and healing of God that comes through heartbreak and pain.  After graduating high school, Jason moved to Southern California to be a part of The Young Americans and toured the world, where he found his passion for teaching and affecting people for Christ through music.  Upon completing his service with the group, he returned to Nebraska and graduated with a music education degree from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln in May of 2011 and began directing the choirs at Aurora Public Schools the following fall .  It was that same year that he met the love of his life, Kristin (also a teacher).  They were married in 2012 and now have four children: Evelyn, Breya, Jocelyn, and Malachi.

Jason's hobbies include music, sports, gardening and spending time with his wonderful family.

Children’s Director: Kristin Frew

Kristin was born in Valentine and went to school in Neligh, Nebraska where she attended a small church with very little community. In high school as her love for the Lord and following Him began to grow she searched out the desired community in other towns nearby. It was in college where she really experienced the joy that can come from spending time growing with believers and having a unified mission for reaching others. Kristin has an adventurous spirit and God has used that to draw her to him. Through being a camp counselor at Okoboji and a Campus Crusade Summer Work Project in South Carolina God began developing a heart for missions and then led her to Australia to attend Youth With A Mission (YWAM) Discipleship Training School. Experiencing the father heart of God firsthand in India and Nepal changed her perspective. God is writing His story through each one of us and we are invited to be a part of it by showing God’s love even if for only a moment. Upon returning to the U.S. she has wanted to expose kids in Nebraska to who God is, His love and forgiveness, and how He wants them to be a part of what He is doing in the world around them. She went back to UNL to get her master’s in education, went on 3 more overseas mission trips, and taught high school math for 5 years in Lincoln and Aurora. It was during this time she met and married her best friend Jason. They have 4 children Evelyn, Breya, Jocelyn, and Malachi. She spent 5 years at home with her kids and running a small daycare. Kristin is excited to be on the next step of God’s adventure blending her passions – children, missions, and Jesus.
